Dr Brundaban Mishra

Lead Researcher, History Projects

Brundaban holds a PhD in Indian History from the Jawaharlal Nehru University and a Postdoc from Kyoto University, Japan.

His research interests are Modern Indian History and State Formation, with a focus on India and South Asia. Brundaban’s ideal day involves wading through old files at the National Archives of India, uncovering lost stories and forgotten characters from bygone eras.

Brundaban is currently working on Birth of a Nation, a multi-volume book project as well as a podcast series for Confluence.
