One of India’s best-known entertainment executives, Aalif played an instrumental role in setting up Fox Star Studios, a joint venture between 20th Century Fox and STAR, India’s largest media and entertainment company.

As Chief Creative Officer at Fox Star Studios, he was responsible for overseeing the development, production, and acquisition of a slate of 40 films in Hindi and Tamil, which delivered a worldwide box office gross of $450 million. Amongst the notable films were My Name is Khan, which, in 2010, became the all-time highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.

Previously, Aalif was head of STAR Gold, a movie channel of the STAR India group, with a weekly reach of 650 million viewers, and also the Creative Head for a digital entertainment company run by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Aalif’s first film, Visaranai, was India’s official submission to the Academy Awards in 2017. He co-produced the blockbuster Soorarai Pootru, a thriller starring Suriya, with Guneet Monga and 2D Pictures in 2020.
